We’re Hanna & Salla - a design duo from Finland with a shared love for bold swimwear and the ocean. Halla Halla was born in 2016 from our passion for adventure, creativity, and sustainability.

After years in beautiful (but chilly!) Finland, we traveled the world to surf, enjoy the sun, and explore different cultures. We wanted to spread the sunshine and joy we have gained from our experiences - while staying true to our commitment to the planet. We’re proud to be Finland’s first sustainable swimwear brand, proving that style and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Today, Halla Halla is known for its one-of-a-kind bold prints, reversible swimwear and signature tropical style. Every piece is eco-friendly, ethically made and suitable from surfing to sunbathing. Halla Halla styles are so versatile that every honey can find their perfect fit. Life’s too short for boring swimsuits, so join us - let’s make waves together!

For us, helping keep the oceans clean and seeing the marine life thrive is the passion and purpose in life. That’s why we craft our swimwear from regenerated nylon, a sustainable material made by recovering discarded ocean waste like fishing nets and other discarded plastic. The recovered waste is then transformed into high-quality nylon, which is durable, soft, and eco-friendly - creating beautiful swimwear that makes a positive impact on the planet.

All our items are manufactured ethically in the most magical island of Bali, at a local factory that aligns with our values. We carefully selected this factory after researching several options, ensuring that their practices are not only sustainable but also morally and ethically responsible. 

We are so happy with the factory that we’ve been working with since we started in 2016. We visit the factory on a regular basis and value the team greatly. All our sewing staff are well-paid, insured and they work in good conditions. It is great that we can provide work for the local Balinese people: we love our Bali team!
